Cup of Joe is our student-run coffee shop that activated the Academy’s entrepreneurial program and provides girls the knowledge to run a business through innovative leadership. The coffee shop opened in August 2016 as a part of our annual St. Joe Day events.
A message from the 2018-19 Cup of Joe Student Managers: "Cup of Joe is much more than a coffee shop; it has its own sense of community! We love interacting with girls from all classes, whether they are working or coming to enjoy the coffee. We truly are running our own business! Through doing inventory, making deposits, hiring and training new workers, making the schedule, and so much more, we have all gained real-life work experience without leaving St. Joe. We recommend working here to every Angel because Cup of Joe is so unique and one of our favorite parts of SJA!"

Some Cup of Joe students are a members of the Future Business Leaders of America Club
. The club further propels their business education and hands-on experiences. Emily Meier ‘17’s involvement with the club was rooted in her belief that “this experience will help me develop skills many others will not achieve until they are out of college with a real career. I feel this experience will provide me with a good foundation in management and possibly a future career in the business world.” She was one of the founding members of the student-run business.
All of Cup of Joe’s profits benefit local non-profit organizations. So far, Respect Life Apostolate, St. Martha’s Hall, International Institute of St. Louis, St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness and St. Joseph’s Academy Scholarships have been given donations on behalf of Cup of Joe. As of May 2018, the shop has profited over $8,000. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Megan Hackmann, Cup of Joe Moderator, at firstname.lastname@example.org
