STEM at Open House

Thank you to all of the students and faculty members who highlighted our STEM program to visiting prospective students at our Open House on November 4!

St. Joe students demonstrated the following activities for our visitors:
  • Anatomy and Physiology students observing the electrical impulses controlling muscle movement.
  • Chemistry students measuring the effects of acid rain on carbonate minerals using carbon dioxide and oxygen gas sensors.
  • Science students creating 3-D models of molecules using Sculptris, an online modeling program
  • JoeBotics team members demonstrating the problem solving and technical work that goes into building the team’s robot for competition.
  • Using the FLIR infrared camera to capture thermal images
  • Freshman Computer Science Applications students programming their Sphero Robots to run a maze.
  • Engineering and Design Applications students showing how they designed and built their winning Bridge for the KU High School Engineering Competition.
