Field Trip!

By Dr. Rose Davidson, STEM Coordinator
The freshman and sophomore Honors Biology students, along with their teachers Mrs. Lodes and Mrs. Bisch, attended a screening of the movie Science Fair: What’s the Big Idea? at the St. Louis Science Center on Tuesday, November 6. This event, followed by a discussion about entering science fairs and similar competitions, is a part of the Georgia Frontiere Cinema for Students Program of the 2018 Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival and is sponsored by the Academy of Science, which manages the Greater St. Louis Science Fair.

According to the Academy of Science, “Every year, more than 1,700 students from 75 countries compete in the annual International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), a highly competitive showcase of the world’s top young scientific minds. Science Fair follows one mentor and nine students from around the world as they prepare their projects and teams for the 2017 ISEF event in Los Angeles.”
