A Space for All
By: College Advising Department
The sounds of drills and hammers pepper the hallways, as construction of the new college advising space continues to take place. What was once the former convent area of St. Joe, is being transformed into a beautiful, user-friendly, multi-purpose resource library and event hall. The vision for the space is one where students, faculty and parents can come to research colleges and scholarships, receive personalized counseling, interact with admissions reps from a variety of universities, work on applications or use its lounge area as a respite from the busyness of the day.
Complete with multiple computer workstations, built-in conference rooms and comfortable seating areas, the space will house collegiate information and provide access to a number of additional resources regarding the application process. Director of College Advising, Trisha Hasbrouck, and Assistant Director, Christine Holladay will both occupy offices in the space and hope to see it used by SJA girls on a daily basis.
Architects and professional designers have been brought in to ensure the location is both aesthetically pleasing and practical. The estimated time of completion is early fall, and while Mrs. Hasbrouck and Ms. Holladay have set up temporary offices in the Development Office, they eagerly await its grand opening, knowing it will be a space for all.
