Introduction to Art students are exploring color theory and acrylic paints. They recently completed color theory illustrations. Their imagery had to depict a variety of color theory concepts: color wheel, analogous colors, gray scale, monochromatic scale, and complimentary colors.
SJA designers just completed a t-shirt design and repeat pattern design project using Photoshop. Their last project of the semester was an interior design project. They explored designing spaces for specific clients. Guest speaker and alumnae, Carolyn Fava, chatted with students about her career as a commercial interior designer.
Painting students are delving into the world of portraiture. Students visited the St. Louis Art Museum and scoured the galleries for inspiring portraits. Their last project of the year was a self-portrait.
