Board of Directors

St. Joseph’s Academy is a not-for-profit corporation located at 2307 South Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri 63131.

Governance rests in a Member Board and a Board of Directors. Current parents provide direct input into school operations through membership on the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.

The Member

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Louis Province, is a founding member of and a Missouri nonprofit corporation. Powers reserved to this group include determining and maintaining the philosophy and identity of the Academy; appointment and removal of the President and members of the Board of Directors after receiving recommendations from the Board of Directors; approving the purchase, sale, acquisition, disposition or transfer of real estate or substantial assets of the Academy.

Officers of the Corporation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (the Member) are the Province Leadership Council:

Board of Directors

The Board's Purpose is to provide leadership and strategic direction to advance the mission of St. Joseph’s Academy. Governance by the Board of Directors shall include but shall not be limited to the following matters:
  • Upholding the purpose and mission of the Academy;
  • Approving administrative policies for the effective operation of the school;
  • Providing for effective management of the school;
  • Monitoring and evaluating school operations;
  • Planning and providing for the solvency and financial stability of SJA;
  • Approving the annual budget.
