ACS Career Day

By: Dr. Rose Davidson, STEM Coordinator
Fifty seven SJA Honors Chemistry students attended the Chemistry Career Day sponsored by the American Chemical Society at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department on Friday, November 9. The events introduced students to careers involving chemistry and biochemistry by observation of activities in those areas. The day included tours of the research laboratories of the biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry departments. The instruments demonstrated included X-ray Diffraction, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, High Performance Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry and Electron Microscopy. The tour was conducted by a Chemistry Magic Show by the UM-St. Louis Chemistry Club.
