Students in Mrs. Lodes’ Honors Freshman Biology participated in Polar-ICE, a National Science Foundation funded program. They learned how to integrate scientific research data collected by polar scientists into their biology coursework. Students used data collected by the US researchers at Palmer Station to investigate the changes which have been occurring in the Antarctic ecosystems.

The students participated in the culminating symposium for the Polar-ICE project at Washington University on March 1st. During the symposium, each team presented their research during a poster session to a panel of scientists, teachers and peers from other schools.
