Students Present Abstracts at the 2018 Ocean Science Meeting

Three Angels and Mrs. Katie Lodes were in Portland, Oregon for the 2018 Ocean Science Meeting (OSM). The OSM is an international conference on “all things water!” Sessions included all aspects of oceanography, especially multidisciplinary topics, as well as presentations that reflect new and emerging research on the global ocean and society.
SJA students presented their abstracts during the student poster sessions. Their research and presentations were highly praised by international scientists and peers. Click the links below to read more about each student’s research:

In addition to attending the conference and presenting, the students had the opportunity to visit Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center and O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Lab. At the lab, engineering researchers are indicting studies with building codes for tsunamis, as well as the effects of storm surge and energy generation with ocean waves.
