Beta Chi Pi

By Dr. Rosemary Davidson
Dr. Ken Mares, the Director of Students and Teachers as Research Scientists (STARS) program, was the guest speaker at the December 12th Beta Chi Pi, science honor society, meeting. Dr. Mares described the six week program to members and their invited guests, the junior class and the honors level biology students. For six weeks, the participants in this program carry out research under the supervision of top scientists at Cortex Innovation Community, the Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis University, Washington University and the University of Missouri in St. Louis.  Senior Jamie Conners presented her experiences as a participant during last summer’s program.
