St. Joseph’s Academy Students Care with Short Hair

WHAT:
On Friday, August 22, 2014 more than 100 students, faculty and staff at St. Joseph’s Academy will donate their hair to organizations that provide hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss due to cancer or other diagnoses. This meets a unique need for children and teens by using donated human hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. St. Joseph’s Academy’s Student Council and Campus Ministry leaders are organizing the event that culminates the first week of school, and will support Locks of Love and Children with Hair Loss organizations.

Each participant received a pink ribbon to wear on Wednesday, August 20 at an all-school assembly as a sign of her commitment. Guest speakers, provided testimonials on the importance and impact of the donation. Follow us on Twitter! @StJoeAngels, #ShortHairWeCare

More than 70 feet of donated hair is projected for Locks of Love (locksoflove.org) and the Children with Hair Loss (Childrenwithhairloss.us)
