Senior Appreciation Day
On April 27, the Class of 2021 celebrated “Senior Appreciation Day.” This tradition includes the “running of the halls,” Senior Service Commissioning, the announcement of college choices and special award recipients, the Alumnae Induction Ceremony, Senior Slideshow and a delicious pancake breakfast on the Outdoor Theater.
At the Alumnae Association Induction Ceremony, each senior received a handmade lace handkerchief from Le Puy, France. In an effort to “serve the dear neighbor without distinction,” the Sisters of St. Joseph (in Le Puy) offered in-need women from the community the opportunity to work as lace makers. These lovely handkerchiefs then represented a source of livelihood for our Sisters and the women they helped. For the Angels, they represent an intricate bond to both our school and our founders.
St. Joseph’s Academy is a college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Our mission at the Academy is to provide quality Catholic education for young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge, and respect for self and others. Our community expects these young women to make a profound impact in the world.
