Dr. Saccone Visits “Genetics”

Dr. Nancy Lim Saccone, a Genetic Researcher from Washington University in St. Louis, virtually met with our Genetics class to discuss the similarities and diversity among humans. She also talked about current human genetic studies, how well they represent us as humans and the importance of diversity in genetic studies.

Dr. Saccone’s main research focuses on using mathematical and statistical methods to understand human genetic variation and its contribution to complex diseases and traits. Students enjoyed hearing about her expertise in the field and had the opportunity to ask questions about her research.
