Bella Buebendorf ’21 Receives “CSJ Justice for the Dear Neighbor Award”
St. Joseph’s Academy is proud to announce the first “CSJ Justice for the Dear Neighbor Award” recipient. This award recognizes a student who embodies the mission and charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJs) by bringing loving unity to a divided world. She has modeled through her attitude and work, a commitment to educate, advocate and take action in order to achieve unity of neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God so that all may be one. Inspired by the ministry of the CSJs, this student has demonstrated an ability to respond to the needs of the times by defending the human dignity of all persons rooted in the gospel call to social justice.
The 2021 recipient is Bella Buebendorf ’21! Throughout her time at St. Joe, she has participated in social justice efforts and worked toward Diversity Equity and Inclusion within the SJA community. As Diversity Club president, Bella’s mission has been to educate others about racial, religious, and ethical issues around the world.
St. Joseph’s Academy is a college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Our mission at the Academy is to provide quality Catholic education for young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge, and respect for self and others. Our community expects these young women to make a profound impact in the world.
