Amelia Schneider ’21: National Merit Semi-Finalist

St. Joseph’s Academy congratulates Amelia Schneider ‘21 for earning the status of “National Merit Semi-Finalist.” Over 1.5 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

At SJA, Amelia is the Vice President of Diversity Club; a member of Billiken BEAMS Bridge Building Club, National Honor Society, Beta Chi Pi (Science Honor Society), Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) and SJA’s Philanthropy Team; and serves the “Dear Neighbor” through her volunteer work at “St. Joe Serves.” Two of her favorite courses at SJA have included “Honors Geometry” with Mr. Bud Stein and “Social Justice: Living the Gospel” with Ms. Ann Hammer.
