World Religions Field Trip

On March 6, students taking the “World Religions” course visited the United Hebrew Synagogue, The Hindu Temple of St. Louis and the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis (Daar Ul-Islam Masjid). Students had the opportunity to visit and tour these places of worship to further understand and expand upon their class studies.
This Theology Department course, taught by Mr. Andy Lodes, examines indigenous religions, as well as the religions of Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Emphasis is placed on origins, major concepts, scriptures and important rituals of each religion. The corresponding course in the USCCB Curriculum Framework is “Ecumenical and Interreligious Issues.”
