Congratulations to Our Tyson Undergraduate Fellowship Recipient!

Margie Lodes ‘20 has been selected for participation in the Washington University’s Tyson Undergraduate Fellows Program for summer of 2020 with Ph.D. candidate Rachel Becknell as her research mentor. The 2020 Fellows Program is 11 weeks and Margie will receive a stipend as she works collaboratively with her research mentor and other members of the Tyson Research Team. Fellows participate in a weekly undergraduate colloquium, participate in a weekly visiting scientist seminar and a community dinner collaborate with other researchers when help is needed, and help mentor high school fellows, serving as a near-peer. Margie began her research journey at the Tyson Research Center with SIFT, the Shaw Institute for Field Training in the summer following her freshman year. From there she moved on to TERF, the Tyson Environmental Research Fellowship program for high school students in which she participated for two years, for four weeks after sophomore year and for eight weeks after junior year. Congratulations Margie!
