Superhero Graphic Arts Project

By: Dr. Rose Davidson, STEM Coordinator
The students in the Introduction to Art courses recently completed a graphic design project that was displayed at A Grand Day for the Arts.
After exploring stereotypes related to representation in the comic book industry, students were tasked with creating their own superhero or hero comic book cover. They used Adobe Photoshop to respond to the issues they were most passionate about. Students considered gender, race, body types, and other issues as they created their characters.  Several of their projects are shown to the right.
