We are grateful for your interest in the Angel Parent Organization.

As an SJA parent or guardian, participation in your Angel’s education and high school experience is essential.

With parent-daughter Masses and events, service opportunities, activities with Angel Moms and Angel Dads, there are many ways to volunteer throughout the year and be connected and serve with the mission of St. Joseph’s Academy. The Angel Parent Organization (APO) offers parents, guardians, and families the opportunity to fulfill the mission of St. Joseph’s Academy through volunteerism and engagement. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved and support the school. Opportunities can fit all interests and schedules

February Events

February 2 - St. Joe Serves

Volunteers are needed on the 2nd of every month to help serve meals to the homeless at the Sts. Peter and Paul Soup Kitchen. The St. Joe community helps prepare and serve approximately 150 meals, and these are served year-round. If the 2nd of the month falls during the week, Monday through Friday, we provide a dinner. If the 2nd falls on a weekend, we serve a lunch.

There are several ways to get involved with the St. Joe Serves program:

If you are interested in contributing ingredients towards the meal, please email stjoeserves@gmail.com to be added to our Sign-Up Genius list.
We also need volunteers to help serve meals to the guests on the 2nd. For dinners during the week, volunteers arrive at 4:00 p.m. and finish by 6:15 p.m. For weekend lunches, volunteers arrive at 11:00 a.m. and finish by 1:15 p.m.

Sts. Peter and Paul Soup Kitchen is located at 711 Allen Avenue in Soulard. Parking is available in the gated lot, and volunteers enter through the gray door marked “Kitchen.”

February 6 - SJA Community Rosary

Parents, alumnae, alum parents, grandparents, and friends of SJA are invited to join us as we pray the Rosary for the intentions of the SJA community. We come together virtually to pray the Rosary on the first Friday of each month. Our February gathering will be on Friday, February 6th at 7:30 a.m. (CT).

Please join us for our virtual Rosary, led by Sister Barbara Volk, CSJ '54. A prayer guide will be provided.

Registration for this event will open on January 5th.

Mass will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph's Chapel.
Dinner & Auction will begin at 5:00 p.m.

Parent volunteers are crucial to our success, whether they volunteer on the committee, sign up to help with Auction Work Day, or assist with setup! We also need over 50 adult volunteers for the night of the event and appreciate any parent who chooses to work that evening. Thank you for being the most important component of our success!

Junior Ring Mass & Ceremony
8:30 a.m.

The receiving of the Junior Ring is a celebrated tradition at St. Joseph’s Academy. We are so glad your daughter will be a part of our SJA tradition.

Mass: 8:30 a.m.
Ring Ceremony, after Mass: 9:30ish a.m.

Juniors may invite 2 guests. Seating is first come/first served. The juniors will carry flowers into Mass. These flowers will be provided to the students. Students will not be allowed to carry additional bouquets or stems into Mass.

Juniors will be dismissed after the conclusion of Mass. We encourage all juniors to celebrate this SJA milestone with the other members of their Junior Class and their families at the Junior Ring Luncheon.

Join us for a special celebration for the junior class! Receiving the Junior Ring is a celebrated tradition at St. Joseph’s Academy. We are excited to celebrate this special day with the Juniors and their families. The Junior Ring Mass will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the Ring Ceremony immediately afterward. We invite all Juniors and their two guests (plus any immediate family members who are SJA alumnae) to join us for a luncheon celebration.

The SJA Parent Ambassadors Program supports St. Joe by assisting the Admissions Office with recruitment efforts throughout the school year.

By sharing your love for St. Joe with middle school families, and offering a personal connection and parent perspective, you will help families feel welcome to explore the unique benefits of a St. Joe education.

Athletics

We believe that the opportunity for participation in interscholastic athletics is a vital part of the educational experience. Such participation is a privilege that carries with it responsibilities to the activity, school, student body, community, and to the students themselves. We have opportunities for our Angel Parents to help out with events such as working the door at tournaments, helping with parking, and much more.

St. Joe Classic

This important tournament began in 2007, founded by a dedicated group of dads. Today, it continues with the support of all parents within our Angel Parent Organization (APO), united in fulfilling our mission. The St. Joe Classic supports the Parent Scholarship and Heart of an Angel Funds. The Parent Scholarship Fund ensures that no SJA student will have to leave the school she loves due to the loss of a parent. The Heart of an Angel Fund enables students to participate in special traditions and activities that fulfill their St. Joe experience, which may not otherwise be affordable for them.

The event features a 18-hole and 9-hole golf tournament, as well as a pickleball tournament. There will also be a live and silent auction, plus dinner.
