Angels Take Flight Freshman Orientation
August 10-13th (required school days for incoming freshman)
Angels Take Flight is our orientation program for incoming freshman students. Students will journey within their LACE cohorts with fellow students and faculty mentors during this program. Together, they will delve into the fundamentals of a successful start, acquainting themselves with essential technologies, familiarizing themselves with important procedures (such as navigating the cafeteria and locating recreational spaces), and embracing their collective sense of belonging within the school community.
Angels Take Flight will include:
- A leadership team of sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are eager to welcome the newest Angels into the school community, share their tips and tricks for life at SJA, and help the Class of 2030 feel ready and excited for the first day of school.
- Spending time with their fellow Angels, learning about the school’s CSJ legacy, getting to know their way around school, making new friends, and hearing about ways to get involved on campus.
- Fun, games, and learning all about what makes St. Joe unique.

Instrumental Ensemble
Do you enjoy playing a musical instrument? The Instrumental Ensemble has openings for former middle school band/orchestra students for next year!
This course meets two mornings a week before school and receives Fine Arts credit. Students play a variety of music and have a lot of fun along the way! The group will have one performance each semester. Participation in the ensemble does not conflict with current course selections, as the group meets during zero hour (7:00 a.m. until 8:10 a.m.). There is an opening for an experienced piano/keyboard player, and the group welcomes woodwind and brass musicians.
For more information, please contact Mr. Marvin Medcalf, mmedcalf@sja1840.org.
Join us for the Spring Music Concert on Wednesday, April 22nd at 6:30 p.m., and enjoy listening to our Instrumental Ensemble and members of Frontenac Voices perform during this spring recital.
