summer reading
Students at St. Joseph's Academy enrich their summer through required reading. The specific titles are dependent upon the courses in which each student is enrolled for the upcoming school year.
Honors Geometry students will have assigned work over the summer - please check back later this spring for more information.

Required Forms & SJA PArent portal
There are several required forms to complete for incoming freshmen. These will need to be completed or uploaded in the SJA Parent Portal in the Enrollment Checklist. Additional online forms will be added to the portal later this spring.
Parents should have the following items available in the portal to complete and/or upload at this time.
- Immunization Record & Physical Verification Form (All new students will need to have this form completed by a physician. These must be dated in the 2025 calendar year for all new students. The scanned image must be in the SJA Parent Portal by June 30, 2025)
- Media Authorization Form
- SJA Technology Form
- New Enrollment Information Form
- MSHSAA Preparticipation Physical Form (all athletes)**
- MSHSAA Annual Form (all athletes)**
- Register for a HALO session (each student is required to have one parent attend a Hardware and Laptop Orientation (HALO) session, where she will receive her laptop computer and have a brief introduction with our technology office staff.)
** If your daughter is considering trying out for any sport as a freshman, please also have the physician complete the required MSHSAA Health Form. Please read the directions for this form carefully, as there are three steps and only step three (page five) will be uploaded to your SJA Parent Portal account. Both forms must be completed by a physician in 2025. Please do not email or mail the forms, they must be scanned.

Uniform Information
Uniform items may be ordered through Just Me Apparel. Additional items are sold in the SJA Spirit Shop.
A blazer option has been added to our approved school uniform. The blazer can be purchased through Just Me Apparel. It may be worn on any school day and in place of the vest on formal dress days.

Fall Sports Tryouts
Students must have their MSHSAA Physical Form completed by a doctor, and the MSHSAA Annual History Form completed and uploaded to the SJA Parent Portal before they will be allowed to tryout. The required MSHSAA Annual Form is a fillable form available in your Parent Portal account.
Attendance at all tryout sessions is required to be considered for a team, but does not guarantee a position on a team.
- Please do not mail forms to the school - they must be uploaded in the SJA Parent Portal.
- The deadline for uploading forms is July 14, 2025.

Now is the time to make sure that you add SJA event feeds to your family calendars. iCal feeds are available for a variety of events at SJA - All School Events, Class of 2029 Events, Alumnae, Angel Dads, Angel Moms, Campus Ministry, College Advising, Early Dismissals, Menus, Daily Schedule, and more!
To add a feed to your calendar, navigate to the School Calendar page, click the grey square with white lines (shown to the top right of the events list below), click the iCAL link that corresponds to your device and paste it into your subscribed calendars.

Angel Parent Organization
We welcome and encourage parents to be involved with their daughters' education at St. Joe. Staying connected with school news, information, traditions and opportunities for volunteerism, will enhance your experience in her high school years.
The Angel Parent Organization encompasses all of the ways parents can get involved at SJA, whether through social events, volunteer opportunities, or both. As an SJA parent or guardian, participation in your Angel’s education and high school experience is essential. With parent-daughter Masses and events, service opportunities, activities with Angel Moms and Angel Dads, there are many ways to volunteer throughout the year and be connected and serve with the mission of St. Joseph’s Academy. The Angel Parent Organization (APO) offers parents, guardians, and families the opportunity to fulfill the mission of St. Joseph’s Academy through volunteerism and engagement. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved and support the school. Opportunities can fit all interests and schedules.
