Application & Transfer Process

Thank you for your interest in St. Joseph’s Academy.

St. Joseph's Academy recognizes that students are not defined by one area alone. The Admissions Council uses a holistic approach that considers the student's classroom performance in 7th and 8th grades, standardized test scores, and their activities and involvement. The application process typically begins after the student completes her Shadow Visit. Shadowing for 8th graders will begin in the fall - please check back for registration information.

If you would like to submit an application or receive information about how to apply, please contact Clare Conners MacConnell '01, Associate Director of Enrollment Management, by phone at (314) 394-4319, or by email at cmacconnell@sja1840.org.

Application Checklist

SHADOW VISIT

Prospective families are invited to visit us during a typical school day, as well as experience community events such as High School Nights and our annual Open House. The shadowing program is a unique opportunity for prospective students to experience a typical school day as a St. Joe Angel and hear from current St. Joe students. Shadowing for 8th graders will begin in the fall - check back for registration later this summer.

Application

Applicants for the 2025-2026 school year will complete the St. Joseph's Academy online application through SchoolAdmin in early November. Families will need to create an account, which will be used to check the progress of your application. A checklist will list each step and any additional requirements that may be needed to be considered for admission.

If you are interested in applying for grades 9-11 for the 2024-25 school year, please contact  Clare Conners MacConnell '01 at cmacconnell@sja1840.org

Family Meeting

After applicants have completed a shadow visit and have completed the application, family meetings should be scheduled. The applicant and at least one parent/guardian must attend. The scheduling calendar will be available from your Admissions Checklist in SchoolAdmin.

Student Questionnaire

Applicants will be asked to complete a four-question Student Questionnaire found on the Admissions Checklist in SchoolAdmin. Detailed instructions for submission are available in the online portal.

Transcript

Each applicant must provide a full academic transcript to St. Joseph's Academy. The Transcript Request Form can be found on your checklist in the online portal or in the Transfer Students section of this page.

Once these steps have been completed, your daughter can be considered for admission.

Families are traditionally notified of  acceptance on Acceptance Day at the end of January.
