Application & Transfer Process

Thank you for your interest in St. Joseph’s Academy.

St. Joseph's Academy recognizes that students are not defined by one area alone. The Admissions Council uses a holistic approach that considers the student's classroom performance in 7th and 8th grades, standardized test scores, and their activities and involvement. The application process typically begins after the student completes her Shadow Visit. Please click here for more information on shadow visits.

If you would like to submit an application or receive information about how to apply, please contact Dianne Dunning-Gill '88, Director of Enrollment Management, by phone at (314) 394-4321, or by email at

Application Checklist

Once you have completed a shadow visit or school tour, and have decided to apply to St. Joseph's Academy, the next step will be to begin the formal application process.

Check the Application Portal

First, complete the St. Joseph's Academy online application through SchoolAdmin. This application will create an online portal, which you can log into to check the progress of your application. A checklist will show you what has been already been completed, and what is still needed in order to be considered for admission. If you are interested in applying for grades 9-11 for the 2023-24 school year, please contact the Admissions Office

Family Meeting

Family meetings can be scheduled after an applicant has completed a shadow visit and has applied to St. Joe. Your daughter and at least one parent/guardian must attend. Please contact the Admissions Office to schedule the family meeting.

Student Essay

You will be asked to complete a four question Student Essay Form. Detailed instructions for submission are available in the online portal.

Each applicant must provide a full academic transcript to St. Joseph's Academy. The Transcript Request Form can be found on your checklist in the online portal or in the Transfer Students section of this page.

Once these steps have been completed, your daughter can be considered for admission. Families are traditionally notified of  acceptance on Acceptance Day in January.
