Welcome to SJA Admissions

We are grateful for your interest.

Since 1840, St. Joseph's Academy has provided a quality Catholic education for young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge, and respect for self and others. Our community is grounded in the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet's call to "serve the Dear Neighbor without Distinction."

Balanced Approach to Educating Women

Academics

St. Joseph’s Academy is a college-preparatory school offering a robust curriculum in a modern facility. Updated in 2020, the school building boasts the most comprehensive STEM facility of any Catholic girls' school in the St. Louis metro area. St. Joseph's Academy is the only Catholic girls' school with a dedicated Computer Science & Engineering Department, and is the only all-girls' school offering young women four engineering classes.

Campus Ministry

Our Catholic faith is integral to the development of the individual young woman, as well as to the entire school community. We maintain a spiritual environment through prayer, school liturgies, campus ministry, sacraments, retreats and service to others. Service is a cornerstone to a St. Joseph's Academy education. Students embrace the Gospel message, to whom much has been given, much will be required. Our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, instill in each member the desire to "serve the dear neighbor without distinction." In addition to local service opportunities, students have served in New Orleans, Costa Rica, Peru and the Dominican Republic. Each senior will complete her senior year with a three-week service project.

Authenticity, personal responsibility, ethical decision-making and integrity are key values. Graduates are well prepared to handle complex issues and questions of adult life through various programs, including the senior Celestine Project.

Extracurriculars & Athletics

SJA students are educated by caring faculty who emphasize progress and personal growth academically, spiritually, socially, physically and morally. Motivating young women to think critically and creatively, while being encouraged to be themselves, is the core of St. Joe education.

We provide our students the opportunity to pursue their particular passions. Together, we foster a community of learning where students are encouraged to develop their abilities and find appreciation for their diverse gifts. Many school clubs, teams and activities provide these opportunities. From forensic science and robotics to web publishing, field hockey, theatre and the school newspaper - there is something for everyone.
