St. Joseph’s Academy is a private, Catholic high school for girls in St. Louis, Missouri, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Our mission is to provide quality Catholic education for young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge, and respect for self and others. Our community expects these young women to make a profound impact in the world.

Underlying all aspects of school life are the Core Values of the Academy that have served to inspire generations of distinctive women:
  • We believe in a balanced approach to developing the whole woman.
  • We encourage leadership and influence through action.
  • We call forth spiritual courage and confidence.
  • We cultivate intellectual distinction.
  • We foster the desire to serve.
  • We expect excellence.
Our senior class averages 130 students with 99% attending four-year colleges and universities.

Visit Options

Fall virtual visits will be held on designated days from 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. and can be scheduled through our SCOIR platform.

College representatives will form presentation teams with colleagues from other institutions. This affords SJA with opportunities to hear from multiple schools of interest at once, while allowing college representatives access to a wider range of students. All St. Joseph’s Academy students are encouraged to attend.

Visit Policy

To ensure appropriate COVID-19 safety measures, SJA will be hosting virtual college visits and information sessions throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Each summer, the College Advisors cultivate a list of potential college visits that takes the full breadth and depth of our girls' talents, interests and aspirations into consideration. The team works throughout the summer months to schedule over 100 admissions visits throughout the school year. We see this as a critical point of contact between students, families, and colleges.
  • College virtual visits are highly promoted through e-mail blasts, social media posts, intercom and community announcements, as well as daily posting on television monitors in Shanahan Commons and outside the Main Office.
    • All students are encouraged to sign up and attend our series of virtual visits.
  • College representatives will meet with students on designated days from 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
    • College Advisors communicate with each admissions representative to ensure appropriate equipment and technology set up for their presentations.
  • College representatives will receive student information, as well as interact through the virtual Q&A function facilitated by SJA College Advisors.
To schedule a virtual visit, please visit SCOIR to view availability and sign-up for a time to meet with our students.
