The clicking of keys and chattering of voices fill the beautiful main hall of the new College Advising and Resource Center. A student diligently works on revising her Honors College essay, as others flow into one of two conference rooms, excited about the upcoming college rep visit. Further down the long hallway, in a smaller study area, sits a group of Angels collaborating on a science project, while Mrs. Hasbrouck and Ms. Holladay facilitate advising appointments in their individual offices.
The new advising center provides ample space for student workstations, housing outlets and charging ports in various locations, as large windows boast a gorgeous view of the CSJ Walk of Peace and Prayer Garden and expansive lawn. The two 65 inch screens with built-in computers allow for admissions counselors to showcase their college campuses while presenting information sessions to students and parents, alike. Each space fulfills multiple purposes, including group meetings and conferences, in addition to casual Q&A between students and advisors. WiFi access is available throughout, as well as a small kitchenette, allowing for extended hospitality to university reps and St. Joe guests. The College Advising and Resource Center has surpassed expectations regarding its welcoming atmosphere and practicality and is loved by students, faculty, and staff at St. Joe.
